Audits

An 'Audit', is a tool to evaluate or assess. Audits are designed to help companies recognize, reflect, learn, plan and improve. An audit looks at what the organization is doing and not doing. A Meta-Culture audit is designed to identify gaps in current practice, assess health, evaluate how various policies, processes and systems are working and offer improvement advice.

Meta-Culture audits are sophisticated tools that can help companies identify organizational strengths as well as areas that are vulnerable or a cause for concern. Meta-Culture audits are tools that can give corporations, at the very least, a pulse check and, at best, a comprehensive diagnostic regarding the health of the relational and communication environment. Our audits also help identify specific issues and problems that could hamper the level of internal collaboration or those that could prevent “normal” issues or disputes from being resolved successfully and in a sustainable way.

Our audits use a combination of qualitative and quantitative tools to gather comprehensive information on the state of the organization or unit.

We have five main types of audits:

Organizational Communication
Organizational Relationships
Organizational Disputes
Innovation
Customized Audits

Organizational Communication
COMMUNICATION AUDIT

Ineffective communication can create islands of discontent and affect employees' alignment to the larger organizational vision and goals. This is an assessment tool to assess the nature, medium and quality of information that is communicated across the company- between management and staff; between employees; in teams; and across departments and functions. The Communication audit will identify both formal and informal channels of communication that currently exist in the organization and assess their efficacy. Meta-Culture audits can also study the quality of external relationships between the company and its customers, partners, collaborators, governmental agencies, consultants, suppliers and vendors.

Organizational Relationships
RELATIONSHIP AUDIT

Ineffective or sub-optimal relationships directly affect internal collaboration, its productivity and a company’s ability to compete effectively in the marketplace. This tool will seek to understand the state and quality of relationships between different employees, levels and departments. Most companies have both formal (work groups, staff meetings) and informal (water cooler, cafeteria) spaces where relationships are developed. The audit will investigate the many ways in which people interact with each other, the strength of these relationships and the degree of collaboration they are able to achieve. A relationship audit can help you identify key relationships that are not optimal and highlight areas that can do with improvement.

Organizational Disputes
DISPUTE / CONFLICT AUDIT

This is a unique and very focused assessment tool to examine the types and nature of disputes in the organization. Conflict audits can help identify the effectiveness of existing formal dispute resolution mechanisms and unearth informal ways of dispute resolution that are at play in the company. This assessment will also help mangers recognize the impact of unresolved conflict as it affects the culture, operations and profitability of the company.

Innovation
INNOVATION AUDIT
In this highly competitive and constantly changing market place the companies that survive are those that constantly innovate to keep apace of and even ahead of changing conditions.  Creativity and the spirit of Innovation are difficult to sustain especially under adverse conditions, when they are, interestingly, most sorely needed. Our Innovation Audit does an assessment of the existing innovation culture of the company. It identifies practices, processes and programs that contribute to creating a culture of creativity and innovation and those that distract.

Customized Audits
CUSTOMIZED AUDITS

Meta-Culture’s assessment tools can be adapted to your company’s needs. We can design a customized audit that can incorporate more than one area: such as those involving workplace relationships and collaboration, communication, dispute management, teamwork, etc. The audits can then help companies create the kind of interventions, systems or processes that would be most appropriate to address the challenges facing the company.
